I don't know him personally but we've moved in overlapping circles for years. I remember him as a Triumph man and what little I saw on the news looked Triumph...He's best known in ChCh as a speedway competitor, cars. TQ's and sprints. last time i saw him drive was a carburettored sprinter in which he gave the more exotic injected cars fits. A very decent bloke and a genuine trier.
Insurance...well as Ellipsis has said, it's ChCh...for those not here it's often been a choice between what you can afford and none...And if as has been said, the house was under offer and the insurance came up for renewal complete with the seemingly mandatory increase....How many of us would have paid up ?

I hope he does well out of the fund, it could have been any one of several guys i know - Eurodave for instance is just a few doors away.....

I would have thought - ah, wait, crap. How to screw up in four words.

Living in Christchurch has kind of taught most residents that up-to-date insurance is a bloody good idea, even if you know you are getting screwed over. If you can't afford the loss, it needs to be insured.

Having said that, he's been put in a rubbish position that I wouldn't wish on *almost* anyone.
