Unfortunately, once a rego number has been issued they will not produce that same number as a personalised plate, even if the original plate has dropped out of the system.

You can get the rego number of an old black and silver plate reissued but only if it's going back on the bike that it originally came off and only if there has been no other plate assigned to that bike since the original one.

    Rickman Metisse.
According to engine number the engine is from a TR5 lightweight short wheelbase purpose built 1958 factory dirt bike.

I've never ridden it in anger. I'm one of those wankers that has a few bikes just for looking at.
I bought it of the first owner/builder. It has been a Timaru bike all it's life prior to my ownership, & as best I can tell, he only ever rode it for a few hours.

No joy yet sorry man. I thought I had a bunch of plates tucked in behind the garage door but instead I found some jandels and some hurley sticks there, neither of which I've seen for a long time so I obviously can't trust my memory haha.
I've def got one (it was off an old Morris I think and still had some rego tags/stickers on it, not sure if applicable to bikes way back when or not) so will keep you in mind when it shows up in case you're still looking.

There is a bloke on here that can CNC a black plate to the numbers of your white plate so well that you cant tell it from the real deal.
If I name him I fear my remains will never be found.

Gorgeous! I had a 55 T100. Have you got all the tech specs for the TR5? I still have a Triumph manual for twins from 1945 to 1956 and it has quite a bit of info on the TR5.

Thanks for that, but I have bought a Haynes manual that covers that model.
