Honda release date is March 06, I think, and yeah you will lose money if you buy an 05, however you should be able to pick up a well priced 05, the 05 CBR1000RR have come down 2 grand, so it might be worth while getting an 05.

If you worry about losing money, motorbikes aint' for ya.

NZ is about 6 months behind from memory, so it should be about march or so. Dont know if they'll get the japanese version of the bike or the UK/Euro version tho.

It pays to find a comparison link if you are keen on the 05 or 06 model. The August Superbike did a comparison run between all the 05 and 06 600's and came to the conclusion that, The 636 has been watered down, the CBR600RR is a hell of a lot better, the R6 is worse than before although a couple of tweaks as been ironed out.

It all depends and what you really want and when?

Wasnt that a comparo between '04 and '05 models? Don't think any '06 models have been tested yet?
If you wait to buy an '05 you could pick up some bargains closer to the release dates. Both the R6 and GSXR600's have had some pretty major updates so the '05's should be discounted big time when the new '06 models arrive.
Once upon a time NZ used to get the new models pretty much before anyone else, mainly when we had Production racing that counted, now though......

You pay a premium to be an early adopter. Especially on Suzukis, it's often better to wait till they've been out a while.
I've decided to get an '05 Bandit rather than wait till next year for the '06 for that reason.

When the new 04 model CBR1000 and ZX10 came out they reached our showrooms in April 04. The new for 2005 636 was here in March 05 (in limited numbers). I've been told by someone who should know that the 06 ZX10 will be here Nov 05 hopefully. That's a big improvement.
That comparison Sniper mentioned was 04 to 05 bikes and they were SO WRONG on their kwaka decision. More proof to never believe what UK journos say.

And sometimes models are launched in New Zealand before anywhere else in the world. My ST1300 is a 2002 but American riders of said cycles don't believe me because the ST wasn't released in the US until 2003. Bless them.
