That efficiency comment was more aimed at the old school cars. But I'd imagine a Harley ridden in anger wouldn't sip the gas.... Although neither will a sportsbike.

Just giving a bit of perspective.
Here is some perspective. Plus it is quite amusing

You just compared the 120r to my bike that's 21 years old, has a engine 1/3 the size of a 120r and will out brake, out turn and nearly as quick.

They've developed a motor that for all good measure, is still less powerful than the 2 litre from a early 90's Nissan Primera.

I don't have a problem with Harleys, those who ride them or what they like to wear when they do, but trying to compare them is pointless, they have their place, just like sportsbikes, trail bikes, multi purpose bikes, etc - all have their strengths and weaknesses, it's your own choice what you celebrate.

Until you get to a corner...

Some of the best mc racing I ever saw in NZ was when they had the HD 883 class. The 'cheap' bike and good prize money attracted some of the better riders in NZ at that time. Same thing over here when national racing was still on the tv.

It's amusing that you mention this. Pete was a front runner in that class, and could lap Manfeild faster than a lot of guys I know on current sports bikes.

    Without flash mods or tyres.

All good in jest between mates but otherwise I think it could be a case of penis envy.

Why can't we all just get along...
I have a standard post (#30) that I copy/paste into any Harley thread, all good fun from where I sit. What I observe though, is threads of this nature brings out the lurkers who obviously take the interwebby thing a little to seriously. Honda owner/riders don't react like Harley owner/riders do on similar threads, they just take it on the chin (pun intended)

Monsterbishi vs Crasher, 5 laps round Ruapuna. Monsterbishi can ride whatever Jappa he can get his hands on, Pete likewise with a HD. No race bikes. Loser pays the others expenses.

Ruapuna is the worst track for a Harley methinks. Lots of flicking from side to side.

Prolly still back Pete though, he can ride okish.
