Mrs Berg has a GSR750 and loves it to bits. Over 80,000km of absolutely trouble free riding in under 3 years.
Best bang for buck on the market at the summer special price in my opinion

I have a gas axe and a welder! What do you mean "it won't fit"?

Well, that was the point I was making. The GSX-S1000 may allow people who enjoy sportsbikes to enjoy a bike with a proper sportsbike engine without the seemingly medieval torture rack ergonomics. People who are finding age and injury limits the amount of enjoyment they can get from sportsbikes due to the time constraints inflicted by a subjective pain scale assessment.

And I was responding to your original point that old blokes like me do expect to ride way more than for one hour ... your fitrst post seems to suggest that old blokes want a nice one hour ride .. I want a hell of a lot more ...

Kapiti to Wair/MartinB,was a nice run for years for me ,maybe 100kms.Early morning.
But the return after a coffee and cigar rendered me second hand.
By then the traffic gave me the shits anyway.

That isn'y what I was implying at all. You need to read it again. I said old blokes who want to ride MORE than an hour at a time.

Why detune a K5/6 thou motor? I have yet to meet anyone who has ridden one and commented on it not having enough torque. And they're genuine 160+ wheel horsies.
    I don't get it.

Maybe they've learned from BMW and they won't detune the 1000?

One can only hope. De-tuning is for mortals.

Really? all the reviews of the Tuono v4 1000 raved about it. The new 1100 appears to be even better, but I haven't seen it in a journo's hands yet
"For a moment, nothing happened. Then, after a second or so, nothing continued to happen" Douglas Adams (1952-2001) - not riding a TUONO then!

Who learned from Aprilia with the original Tuono (do you think i might be biased?).

Although for the later Tuonos they dropped some top end bhp for more torque

Sigh. Everything you see on the Internet isn't true, nor is it necessarily the opinion of the person writing it, AND it may even be a wind up. If you look back in the thread I'd already disowned the comment, after getting the desired response from a mate I knew woul dbite.

I have to put more effort into trolling Special Education Services to get rise out of them than I do a "biker" and and SES are people entirely by bearded feminist activists with a finally honed sense of when to push the mutually assured destruction button.

Having said that, I still wouldn't EVER buy an Aprilia in NZ due to belligerantly malignant distributor indifference to resolving warranty claims.
