After seeing the first pic of the injury to the head, it kinda makes me glad it's compulsory to wear a helmet.
All I can say is, be careful out there people.

Maybe the hero's on the other thread saying they wouldn't wear helmets if it wasn't illegal should take a look at this

Many years ago I heard of a girl who jumped on the back of her boyfriends bike wearing nothing but a bikini (before helmets wre compulsory). They had an off, she ended up with "burns" to about 90% of her body-subsequently died, of course!
Was thinking that maybe I wouldn't bother with my cordura pants for my daily commute (about 4k's), Jacket , helmet and gloves would be fine_ have changed my mind now tho and will ride fully kitted up. can always change when I get to work.

Me thinks I might have to look at getting me some gear so that when I ride pillion, I wont look like any of those pics if I were unlucky enough to fall off the back.

THEY DONT EVEN WEAR A HELMET!!!, i know the dont have to, but all they wear is a leather vest and pants, and that about it. Im surprised none have died
Yep seen those, Can't believe those guys don't know better, and to think of it how many teenage(ish) people look up and want to be like these guys on their mini choppers etc?
All in all the money's worth it for the proper gear, Good investment that.

After my off last weekend, I think I'd have to go with leather.
My gear did protect me, but theres not too much left of the pants, and the jacket has chips out of it, aswell as a huge mud stain.
By I'd definatly be wearing saftey round the place.
I like all my bodily parts firmly attached and in the right place
