There's nothing wrong with a 160 section rear tyre and I would suggest that this class of bike would benefit from this both from a cost perspective and quicker handling.
If a man is alone in the woods and there isn't a woke Hollywood around to call him racist, is he still white?
I'd got for the MT-03 rather than the MT-07. You pay more for not much more, and you'll be upgrading once you get your full anyway...

I have to agree. The MT is still a great handler, but I haven't figured out why it runs such a big fat tyre, apart from penis value.
The 07 is a completely different machine and has a fair bit more stick than the 03, not so evident on paper however. It's also pretty comfy
So what if the engine is smaller and restricted? It's a LAMS bike, and still good for just over 70hp unrestricted, which involves a new throttle stop (or modify the existing)
If I was doing LAMS it'd probably be a ZXR400 for me, best bang for buck and I have heaps of tasty shit to bolt to one (oh and I already have one). Or an FZR400RR 3TJ om nom nom
I went and saw both , unfortunately weather was shocking today for any test ride. Both felt good and comfy. Liked how light was MT07 and felt in full control even I didn't ride it. Planning to arrange a ride and see which one rides better.
Heard and seen countless good reviews on MT07 , and some very good ones on MT03.
Probably will arrange a test ride for ninja 300, z300 and ER-6N
Went to see the Benellie in Hutt, wasn't impressed with lack of knowledge of the sales guy and the bike was heavy , poor plastic work , and couldn't find any reviews online . So that's off my list.
Might give HD Street 500 a try just to cover all my choices !

The MT-07 sounds a bit crap with factory exhaust, but it sounds amazing with a simple bolt-on exhaust system swap: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PLVU2hn4T94 The short Arrow and the Akrapovic in particular sound brilliant. The burble and crackle on over-run - wow.
The Akrapovic exhaust is amazing but $1500 ?? Not sure ...
Just wondering if anyone here owns Kawasaki ER-6N post 2013 model ? If so, what is your opinion and feedback on that bike ?
I went and saw that and ninja 300, unfortunately the seating position of ninja was not comfy for my body . I'm tall with broad shoulders and found myself in an awkward posture on ninja , so probably going to be the same with z300.
On the other hand ER-6N seems the right one for me. So doing a bit of research from local owners as well

I would look at something without a lot of plastics to stuff up when you fall because you will fall at some stage, and put some crash protection on it at soon as you get it.
If I was buy new and I wanted to keep the bike once i have my full MT07 would be my pic.
But I think your better to look for a 2nd hand bike for your first bike.
