done it a couple of times, was weird, sort of like riding on sand, haven't watched monty python so probably missing the joke...
not the easiest thing, did it at the brass monkey, it was so bad they closed the road...after we went thru of course.
Just about froze to the bike....bit of a problem when I had to stop, almost couldn't get my leg out, just as well my pillion did! or![]()

I haven't seen snow since London 1997 and if it did snow here in Auckland I'd still have to take the bike as I have no other way of getting to work.

I ride in the snow, what box do I check?
rain, hail (ouch!) or snow
I ride in the snow too. I had the same question.Originally Posted by thehollowmen
Riding in snow is OK, not so good when snowing heavy cause the big flakes stick to your eye lashes and you just can't see. Heavy snow at night is a real bummer because you only see a great white sheet reflecting up front. It's just as bad for drivers in cages etc too. Bikes can get tricky for traction if you don't know where to put yourself. Type of bike makes a big difference in snow. Snow certainly narrows your options. Can be fun. Cheers John.

What this man said. But snow packs up in front of the front wheel and makes it hard to steer. It sticks to the visor and reflects the light at night. Not recommended but when you got to get breakfast in Taupo and you live in Napier, you got to just do it.Originally Posted by oldrider

Don't get to see snow much (if at all) and black ice is something I hope never to find. Fuck I hope there's no ice on the GC. I can haddle most other riding conditions but that's one that really worries me. Will deal to it when and if it happens, but I aren't looking for it.
