    Got my restricted. Whoop whoop!

Big day for me and my bike today. Sat my restricted motorcycle license after 20 years on a learners. My one big whoopsie was pulling over to stop in the break in the yellow lines kerbside, failing to recognise it was a bus stop! The testing officer kept me in suspense when we got back to base. After what was probably only a moment, but felt like an eternity, he returned to tell me I had passed no trouble. If anyone was looking up our driveway this evening they would have seen me in the garage giving my bike a big hug.

Grateful for all the info I have been able to glean from KB. Excited to have taken the next step.

Buy more life insurance. Your next of kin may appreciate it ... And ... read the road code. (heard of it .. ??)

Nice one SSU. I rode for 17 years on my learner licence. One less thing to worry about!

Points for trying, but remember, some of us have teenagers...

If the testing officer couldn't fault my riding, pretty happy with that. Besides which, there ain't no bus stops the places I'm heading...

    Cheers and happy riding.

    Haha, just ignore FairlyJoylessRider.
Such mistakes are easy to make when under such close scrutiny from the notoriously tough Christchurch licensing officials.
Keep having two wheeled fun and well done!

Thanks Sugilite. Yep, sitting the test in Chch is something else. Road layouts and speed limits are constantly changing and road cones sprout up like mushrooms overnight. Lots of roadworks, and at two stages my test took me through major, multi-laned junctions with no road markings.
So yep, a sense of achievement in passing. Cheers for your comments.

Jeez! After 20 years 'learning' I should hope you would pass! How long do you plan on being on your Restricted for?

(Congrats and enjoy your new found improved conditions of riding)

Congrats and well done. I'd be thinking that having a learners that long you'd know how to ride.

Gets me thinking that four years restricted isn't too bad....I might just get my full one day .....

Noice! I would probably fail my license if I had to sit it now!
