Look at my ID, I joined in 2010, I've been riding for 5 years, I've done over 50,000 km on three different bikes, last bike was a Honda ST1100P which I've ridden for 2 1/2 years here in tropical Queensland. I've nearly got 700 posts, FFS !

Read the post, I was asking which of four great rides I should make my first ride when I return to NZ and buy a new bike. None of them are really a learners ride, are they?

SHESH, it's hard to get good staff.

To me that reads at first glance.

You got labelled a nob by a mod who doesn't read newbies posts.
I have evolved as a KB member. Now nothing I say should be taken seriously.

State Highway 1. Just keep heading south, eat lunch, turn around, back up State Highway 1.

Old Steve, buy the bike of your dreams, never mind what "anyone else" thinks!
    Enjoy the experience.
Some people jump before they read what's in front of them, sorry about that.

Thinking of GL1800 Goldwing or HD Ultra or Road King, something with a Pillion Princess throne on the back.

They're big bikes though, so I'll probably be doing some test riding. But will have to settle into something with garaging/car porting for a bike - the apartment we have in Auckland CBD doesn't have secure parking.
