Then unless you're doing the same thing as the idiot behind you, then that would happen anyway, regardless of whether you hesiated or not.Originally Posted by Sniper
Sort of....But only if you are turning left & will be sharing the same lane turned into. OR if you are at 90o to each other & both turning right, then the car on the right has right of way. If you are facing each other & both turning right, best practice is to pass to the right of each other. You have right of way if going straight ahead.Originally Posted by Damon

True, I only said that because it has happened to me.Originally Posted by Monsterbishi

I don't think there is any offence, HOWEVER if you (for example) held up 12 cars behind you to let a couple of cars in (and you had right-of-way) it is POSSIBLE that you could be done for "inconsiderate us" or similar.Originally Posted by Monsterbishi
Same as traffic that does NOT do the speed limit they can be nicked for something similer.
The fact is it is cars A, B, & C that have the right of way any one in car C sitting there cos they dont give a rats arse about any one else on the road is NOT driving to the road code![]()

Finally noticed this. While they are all fine to go as each one has a lane to go into, if I was car C I wouldn't trust the other two....not many people seem to know this rule.
Plus both A &B want to cut across to the left and drive into Animates/ Mitre 10 so C better be bloody careful.
And don't even get me started on some of the bizarre shit I have seen at roundabouts since the public were 'educated'!!
My daughter telling me like it is:"There is an old man in your face daddy!"
The plain fact of the matter is though, in the real world, christchurch even, that car 'B' will most likely be completely oblivious to the appropriate law, and will be turning directly into the path of car C anyway, the intersection of Moorhouse and Durham street springs to mind, if you park in the petshop on the corner of the intersection and watch as cars from the C path want to turn left, how manys from the B path turn right into their lane.Originally Posted by dangerous
It's not a case of not driving to the road code, or not giving a rats arse, it's just preventing a accident, I'm not going to put myself in harms way, even though I know what my rights are regarding giving way, I'm just not willing to spend weeks or months recovering after using myself as a rolling roadcode lesson to some driver who didn't have a clue.
You know what I'm getting now is when I am turning left onto a one lane per direction road and someone else is turning right onto that same road, the peaple turning right want to wait for me to go.

The intersection you mention is the one that I sat at for 15min's while fukwit drivers did what the bloody well pleased instead of getting on with driving corectly... shit I have lived/driven over seas and never had these problems, yes it is the NZ driver attude that sucks its a chain reaction aye.
Now I would never expect you to go to Hospital just cos you were in the right..... but why not do as I do, procede to drive into 'my' lane... but I am eye balling the driver in the car comming towards me, if I see he knows what hes doing I carry on... if not then I will hesatate, NEVER (touch wood) have I crashed yet and I have not had to hold traffic up either.
On another note 'us' as bikers should always drive like every bastard is out to get ya, just cos I'm in a cage dosent mean I drive any differant, I think being a biker makes us beter drivers as far as looking into what 'could go wrong'
It has been interseting too note that a lot of those voting for A&B only do relise that car C can go aswell..... I never thought that people sit ther cos they dont trust the other drivers.

:-) Just goes to show how crappy that intersection really is :-)
I wonder if we could setup a BBQ event on the intersection, every time someone gets stuck at the 'C' spot, we give 'em a hotdog, and the person who cut them off gets chased down and given a photcopy of the pertinent roadcode![]()

Speed doesn't kill people.
Stupidity kills people.
I had to laugh today, and I did think about this post at the time.
On my way home I encountered a car in front of me (on a dual carridge way) trying to do a u-turn at the intersection (its common for them to do it here in chch). Someone else was doing a left turn thru a red light. They both got stuck in the middle of the intersection and ended up causing a jam.
Couldnt stop laughing..

It means I'm not an authority or a teacher, and may not have any experience so take things with a pinch of salt (a.k.a bullshit) rather than fact
Each car has right of way b/c each car has to turn and follow into the lane they're in.
I get f*cked off with traffic that gives way when they don'y have to and hold up the traffic.
My goal in life is to be as good a person as my dog already thinks I am.
