    Bike registration fees question

Hi guys, apologies if this is in the wrong place.

I'm about to get my bike rego taken off hold and I've been told two conflicting things:

    1) Bike rego costs are going up 40% in 2 months

    2) Bike rego costs are going down soon

Can anyone enlighten me as to which is true? I'm trying to decide how long to register my bike for In order to save money.

    GOOD NEWS

    What’s changing?
On 1 July 2015 the ACC vehicle licensing levy is being reduced and a ‘risk rating’ is being introduced for some vehicles. As a result of these changes, the fee paid to license a vehicle (‘rego’) will go down by an average of 41%, depending on the type of vehicle.

    BAD NEWS

ACC levies will not be reduced for motorcycles or mopeds in 2015. This is because motorcycle related injuries continue to generate disproportionately high costs for ACC and motorcycle levies are already heavily subsidised by owners of other types of vehicles.

Yep. Cars cheaper, bikes status quo.
