But I can't afford a new bike and don't want to go throught the hassle of buying and insuring a new bike before I have my full.

Another thing to think of is that if you do get the insurance company to write the bike off they have to have the bike actually taken off the road.

This usually means its very hard to get it back on the road without a lot of hassle with revinning a written-off bike.

If you do buy it back (and there's no guarantee that you can get it cheap too) you would be best only to keep it as a bucket racer.

BTW my FZR750R, which was extremely damaged by fire (see here if you missed it) sold at auction for $1100.
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

Argh, I found that out just on the weekend.

I'll could cost up to $600 to get it on the road and I expect around $1300 from the insurance.

Same if it goes to tender. But really who wants to buy a written off fxr150 so It should cost you fuck all really.
My bike was written off by AMI and they wouldn't give me first option or even let me match the winning tender.
They were going to do it as a closed tender and the high bidder would get it.

Take a number & get to the back of the line.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?
