what the cheapest way to get there and back, 27th oct/2nd nov possibly, fancy a trip for the nutter stuff

Tried air NZ and best price for two is $612 from Auckland, is that abit much? can it be done cheaper? do bears poo in the woods

The Buggers have you by the short and curlies unfortunately. You could look for a special to Christchurch that would be around $300-400 return for two and then drive, but then the petrol and extra time involved will most likely equal a direct flight in terms of cost.

It's a "tourist destination", don't ya know.

I have always found Qantas to be cheaper than AirNZ, and usually has more seats. www.qantas.co.nz. You could also try Origin Pacific, although they don't have any direct flights.

Quantas about $40 more..... tried not going weekend and I guess a few people live north and work south, no seats left
