ive always wanted my class 6 and couldnt be bothered buying bikes to suit the restrictions,

i am asking professional advice from other fellow advanced bike riders before i commit to a machine.

And ... in your considered and experienced opinion ... the TRX850 is neither big or fast for one such as you with VERY limited riding experience .. ?????????????

    The other yamie, fook knows????

If ya want an interesting bike that does pillion well, an old CBR thou or a VFR, or yamie 1200 Xjr thingie perhaps?

Something like this for $5K http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/moto...-891420547.htm

have a few that im interested in...... but would like other peoples advice and experience with these bikes and what to look out for

    #1 Suzuki GSX750F 1999 done 76.000kms
    #2 Suzuki RF 2001 400 done 36.000kms
    #3 Yamaha TRX850 1995 done 62.000kms
    #4 Yamaha TRX 850 1997 done 64.000kms
    #5 Yamaha FZX750 - 1996 done 41.000 kms

    they are all reasonably priced,

    thanks heaps

from some one who has to fix these things when they go wrong my two cents

#1 Suzuki GSX750F 1999 done 76.000kms carb slides and needles wear badly, at the right mileage to start having carb/running issues
#2 Suzuki RF 2001 400 done 36.000kms jap import, parts are getting hard to get and bit overweight for the power , and same carb problems coming up in the next 10 to 20 thousand kms
#3 Yamaha TRX850 1995 done 62.000kms great bike just make sure the valve clearance has been done, can burn exhaust valves if running to tight exhaust clearance
#4 Yamaha TRX 850 1997 done 64.000kms same as above
#5 Yamaha FZX750 - 1996 done 41.000 kms try getting parts for it, engine parts are all right as similar to fz750 but the rest of it will be a problem. short production and nothing else the same in the Yamaha range will make parts a problem

The TRX850 is certainly not for a novice rider, ( im not being an asshole I've owned two and raced one in battle of the twins )
Its not forgiving as modern bikes and certainly needs to be ridden with conviction.

Stock bikes are limited to 180kmph ( the R versions had the 240kmph speedo )
Stock bikes have very soft front ends ( change that ) otherwise tank slapper central

engines are bullet proof, though need good oil and the valve clearances / buckets need to be done @ 60,000
    YZF750 running gear bolts in.
