I don't think anyone in KB would be silly enough would they?
To every man upon this earth
    Death cometh sooner or late
And how can a man die better
    Than facing fearful odds
For the ashes of his fathers
And the temples of his Gods

Personally, I reckon it's a bad idea - for Tourism? What, for tourists to ride round NZ in? Yikes.

Mmmm - a powered parachute - but that would be fun riding around Palmy on a windy day.

Ah no i can see it now, see new zealand from the comfort of the kiwi trike, you'll want the arms of a gorilla and a neck like a jockeys bollocks and the fact that your only 3 inches off the asphalt will mean you'll see bog all anyways. Maybe thay can do an extreme sports version, complete the coast to coast on the kiwi trike!!

To me it looks like he's spent about 5 minutes sketching something and then asking $10,000 for it . Odd. Why doesn't he put up proper drawings?

It would be much better if it didn't have that rediculous fork assembly obscuring your vision. I quite like the back half of it though, it's just those hidious forks that stick out for mile.

Where is the motor going to go?

I also don't think $10 k is nearly enough to build something like that, unless he already has tools, a workshop and most of the materials.

EDIT: I agree with your parachute comments. Crazy.
