If a Greek citizen came to NZ and hurt themselves ... ACC would help them. (Think about that)
That's fine. Soon we could go to Greece and live off the cost of registering a 600+ bike for a couple of months.

Sorry ... it doesn't work that way.

ACC is for everybody. But some are more everybody than others ...

    %crash by CC useless
%crash by CC * (qty. in that CC range/Total fleet) better
%crash by CC * (qty. in that CC range/Total fleet) * (total KMs per annum in that CC range/total fleet KMs per year) far better

Wouldn't surprise me if 250cc crash rate was actually pretty good, once you adjust for 250s more likely to be 5 day a week commuters than sunny weekend 1000s...

Calculating KMs ridden isn't hard - it is checked in the WOF.

    All useless.

ACC is a public good. The only way that this can work is if we all be paying pro-rata based on income. Otherwise we may as well all be paying 100% of our own accident related costs.

If they account for more than 8.6%*9/8 (calculation including 13% no information) of registered motorcycles in NZ then possibly provided we didn't have a no blame compensation system.

Still. Can you trust the stats when 30% of MX accidents are caused by car drivers not seeing the motorcyclist?

No, they should all be the same. Or, to put it another way, there shouldn't be a levy. The cost should be out of the general tax take.
