Well got my route planned last night, now the long winded task of working out my navigation notes - I like using notes rather than GPS, it adds a bit of excitement and drama. I mean how lost can you get:-)

Agree, Half a days ride in any direction and you will hit the coast, so once you turn around, you will know where you are heading.

But half a days ride and I could never see the coast... even a day

I have given up looking for it now. Have enough points and enough distance. Spent hours on Google and Google Maps with no luck. Found a couple that look close but certainly don't match. Found one on a satellite view that could be it but the google car did not go past it and it is too far out of my way to go for a look on the off chance.

If your talking about the Farlie thing then nah it was only a quick look around there to show it wasn't there. Was looking mostly around the Christchurch area. Did think Mt Michael might have been it but again satellite showed no go. Man gotta love those satellite views. Helped me get them all last year. Anyways have more than enough points without any of the mystery ones. Second day is going to be a long one though with a 2am start and about 8pm finish. Even the saddle sores may have saddle sores.

Willing to share... sounds like an ad in a personal column...
Have you spent hours on Google Earth?.... Have you spent hours search the net?...have you asked all your friends and family?... have you posted the pictures on face book?... in short, have you put enough effort in to be considered worthy to be told?

    And what about number 1?

Not yet. 2 and 3 are easy, but 1 and 4 still have me puzzled.

Went past #1 on Saturday. Its location doesn't do me any favours that's for sure. Got #2 and #4 last week.
Need a little help with #3 the snowcats.
Jantar and LBD. Are you guys doing this one next year?

fair point. fingers cannot scan google earth anymore. contemplating visting the optometrist as i try to zoom in when driving to work. have kept off bookface as farther in law wants to find on his own. i did not know how many rual churches are in south island. even missed japan bash the boks as was up half the night grinding away. so yea i do feel ive loaded the effort in to ask. that and the wifes sick of searching too.
