Its Mr Collins bike, he of the BMW race bike.

    Build quality is pretty high.

I've got enough cafe styled bikes.

could you or I build it or anything like that money? Hell naw. The motor rebuild alone is $4k plus - more if more bits replaced, custom fabrication, blahdeblah.

    I love it

Probably built from an F2 rather than a K series too - but only a single front disc....

And why the hell the cheap cone filters - like the CX cafe, spoilt for the sake of a few more dollars.

It got me too Greg the oil tank is beneath the swingarm its mentioned in the blurb, being a Dresda i would haver prefered a manx style center oil tank.
Interestingly Dave Dregens used to both ride and Prep the Honda GB endurance bikers of the Hondaline ara

Oil tank is under the swingarm. Pretty neat
I had an old yella F2. Best remembered for breaking the chain and holing the cases. Graham Berry (f race car and hot rod fame) welded it up as good as new.
it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.
those cheap ass bitches can do anything with ductape.

    .

Looks to be a tank under the swingarm by the filler tube and oil lines. Picture below.

its a CB750F1 - disc rear but it will have the later head. They only had a single front disc. - an F2 (Comstars but SOHC) had two.

I'm waiting for a guy in a CB750 group I am in to finish designing a setup to take a Wilwood 4 piston caliper. That and a modern disc (lighter and way better friction material will be good enough for a road bike (with a fork brace)..... the problem with improvements in one area will be showing up weaknesses in another.

1969 Norton Commando project, currently $8795.00, updated $9200.00

    SOLD for 15K.

Paintwork done and instruments rebuilt but still a lot to do.

Probably at least another 5K to spend.

I would have thought with the demograph who lusted after these going 'electric' popularity would have tapered off.

I sold a good running Commando about 2 years ago for 12K, and bought a slightly better one or 13K.
This one is non matching numbers which really makes the ride less enjoyable...

The buyer for the Norton has a rather nice T160 for sale, so clearly he knows about British Money Pits.

Maybe there is a touch of FOMO when you see the bidding wars.
