Riding/Driving in the wind

I was riding home yesterday and blow me down, a bloody Terano puts itself about 3 inches away from my number plate!! Not to mention that the wind was blowing bloody gales and I was struggling to stay in a strait line! But that didnt bother him, even with my braking when the wind almost blew me off the road he refused to back away, so I did the next best thing, I pulled over and slowed down to let him pass but no, he just went slower to match my speed but never got further away than 2 meters from my back wheel. So in the end I got back into blenheim and he went his separate way but I was so tempted to follow him home and abuse the hell out of him

But yea, when Im in the unlikly event of driving a car and its very windy and I end up behind a bike I can see is struggelling (esp learners) I generally follow a bit behind as not to annoy them or put them under pressure just because I know how frustrating it gets, especially when you pull over and the bastards stay behind you!!!

What would you do?

I'd just pull over and stop at the side of the road for 10 seconds, let him bugger off into the distance. Not worth the grief.

sometimes in bad weather I'll play traffic cop
I back well off behind the bike, travel on the limit, and pull right so it is a bit harder to pass me..

I've had people do this in a car for me and boy do I appreciate it when they stop the SUVs and boy racers from zipping beside me in the same lane...

I was tailgated while riding home a couple of months ago, it was probably windy (cause I live in Wellington). This dickhead was right on my bumper so I slowed down to bang on 50. Finally, he reached his destination and pulled over...seeing this in the rear view mirror I quickly didn't a U-Turn, then proceeded to move to the wrong side of the road and rode past him as he was getting out of his van. I screamed a few choice words has I went past. Did another U-turn to continue on my way, gave him the bird as I speed past him. He just about fell over in the middle of the road as he ran out to kick me, easy to serve around though.

Sidi do a nice boot with steel toes to rearang the paint work. sounds like youve got an auckland driver on holiday. prudence wold say stop and get a coffie. I would out run him or let him past and dammage the car. but if he wont pass. stop and confrunt him.

Don't do what I did, had a terrano (thae same one?) travelling <1 meter behind me through some gravel roadworks. I moved over to the center where the loose stuff is slipped the clutch and opened the throttle... expecting to shower him with a nice shower of dirt...

It was only under just about full power that if I am 2-up the back wheel does not spin but the front lifts... ooops

I deliver water tanks on a truck.
These tanks hold 5550 gallons,don't wheigh much an I have four on at a time.
The wind creates all sorts of problems and I would prefer other vehicules kept right the F away from me but the twats still tail gate while I'm weaving all over the road.I think they just don't have much of a self preservation clue going on.If i'm on a bike and have the sort of problem you describe I just pull over an let em go.When I'm driving my 4x4 and see a bike having issues with the wind I give em' plenty of room,apart from cbr250rr riders that is.I'd like to run them little fuckers over every time
