To clean a visor / fog insert without scratching: DON'T SCRUB THE F#%$&*NG THING,Soak the bugs for some minutes to soften them, then wipe with a clean wet 3M SCOTCH BRITE HI PERFORMANCE CLOTH ( $3 at supermarkets ).
Wipe dry with a second scotch brite cloth,it will leave a streak free finish.
Rinse the wet cloth free of bug parts and clean both cloths regularly in the wash, don't use fabric conditioner (it prevents the cloth's ability to absorb water)

Don't listen to the Fog City geeks either. They are a nightmare to live with when it's dark.
Abso-bloody-lutely correct. I was stationary at the lights with hail pelting down, my visor was fully closed and there wasn't a trace of fogging.
You can get pinlock kits to fit brands other than Shoei and Nolan, although it will require drilling the visor for the pins.

When stationary, open visor or exhale through mouth directing air downwards into jacket collar.
When moving, keep visor closed but remember to always have small vent under visor open for a nice cool breeze keeping visibility fog free. If it still fogs up as it can do in the depths of winter, lift visor up a snip. Even if it's raining, you'll still not have any water enter your helmet.

Tried it, when you're all huff'n'puffed it only seems to add another 30 seconds before you're too fogged to see who is who.
