Went on a Ulyseys group ride once, won't ever ride with them again. ...left behind as they all rossied away into the distance.

What about the ones with no bike? You could chuck them on the back.

Funny how this is the second post about the Ulysses being crap to ride with. I have ridden with them a lot and they are no different than an other group really. It will differ from branch to branch with at least one that I know of being sticklers for the speed limit with a no overtaking rule. In the Far North branch we tell everybody to ride their on ride. So, yes, some will Rossi off but that is up to them, we always regroup and have a TEC so no one gets left behind. You will always get dickheads in group rides and the bigger the group etc. i ride with a bunch of people, up to a dozen, all of a similar pace and we never have issues, but all good things come to an end and people move on or stop riding, you know how it goes.

Hey if retards keep falling off because they cant keep up its only going to make it easier to pick who to ride with.

Yeah those guys had a very different experience to mine too. I went on several rides, overnighters and others, but the local branch then needed to cater for some born again or newer riders and adopted an appropriate pace to cater for them. That was completely reasonable, but too slow for me so...

The "group" rides I do these days could really only be loosely described as such. There are designated stops and it's each to his own between those.

The Goldwing Club guys have been fun to ride with. No egos there! My LS650 was right as rain. Went on my first group ride with them

All they accomplish is get 1 car length ahead in 1+ km of passing lane thereby totally fucking up the opportunity for others to be able to pass the entire line of slow twats that can't negotiate the open road to save their lives.

Thankfully it's not an issue if you've got a powerful machine but BY GOLLY is it frustrating when driving a slow as shit econobox.
the point is is if there are say 10 bikes riding in a group at 90kph why do they have problems when you overtake about 5 of them on a passing lane. Its like splitting their group into two is a capital offense. A group of bikes is not a single vehicle. Its not a car and trailer, it has not right and shouldn't expect to be able to travel in a contiguous group if its not doing the speed limit.

No road going bike at the mo anyway until I get the fizzer together

Group riding I always get left behind cos I don't feel pressure to keep up and just go my own pace (and get lost).

went on a group ride once. On the autoroute with about 25,000 French riders. Scariest two hours of my life. Doing about 140/150k lane splitting between cars jammed up doing 50/60 and that was riding conservative to keep up and not become obstructive. Then there were the weekend antics. Le Mans 24 bike thinghy. Not one accident did i see. Don't do them anymore over here though.

There was probably a fight going on in the other direction and they were retreating......
