It does make sense that this could quite likely happen. Haha, the japa's will prob all pitch in and buy them, and shut the name down. Now that would be smart business sense by the Japanese manufacturers. Of course I doubt it would ever happen or could ever happen, but would be a good way for the japa's to free up the market place a little for them all. LOL< maybe V Rossi will buy them

I read somewhere this morning the VW were re-evaluating all of their investments. The full significance of that escaped me at the time.

There seems to be undue interest in what VW were doing. The regulatory body, whoever it was, didn't actually test the emissions, they let the manufacturers do their own testing. Unsurprisingly they all seem to have passed. By one means or another.

Meh, I don't like diesels anyway.

If you think that VW have made a mistake you would be wrong. They have made a calculated gamble. And I expect that the end result is that they have made more money doing this than trying to follow the rules. VW is huge, only Toyota make more cars... In 2014 they made over 10 million cars and a profit of $10.8 billion. With assets over $350 billion they can easily handle this.

The dodgy testing applied mainly to diesels, and while other manufacturers of diesel cars might have been using different methods their results are probably all suspect.

I'da thunk this affected mainly Europe, When I think of the USA, diesel cars aren't the first thing that comes to mind.

When I was considering a new bike it was down to a MV or Ducati. Ducati won. One aspect of the decision was that MV keep going broke. Figured with Ducati owned by Audi owned by VW they were secure for a long time.

Purchased the Ducati on a Friday 3 weeks back.

VW news broke on the Monday .......

Couple months early purchased a (used) VW Golf for MRs B - great car, great company, they will be around forever ......

It is possible that this current situation is all my fault .......
