Anybody needing some cheap entertainment, read the sentence out loud without taking a breath.
    Hours of fun.

No worries, I compensate by riding with that well known cat biscuit manufacturer IAMS

I have been pondering an upgrade myself kind of. I really like my bike though, and a new Street Triple is not functionally superior enough to justify the extra cost. If I had a LOT of money to spend I'd buy a BMW R nine T I think but that isn't happening any time soon (unless someone wants to buy a development project on Bealey Ave? Anyone?)
800 Street may be available next year ....

The GSX-S 1000 is based on the 2005-2008 GSX-R 1000 motor which was apparently regarded as a bit of a torque monster. With updated internals, 3 stage traction control, ABS, a brand new chassis and lower gearing than the Gixxer, it's a pretty nice machine. Surprisingly, it feels very much like my Street Triple in terms of ergonomics and manoeuvrability which is likely the main reason why I've gone for it. Oh, and the seat is low enough for this shortarse to get both feet flat! Holeshot set the traction control in Old Fart mode for the 190 km trip home, which I hope was a reflection of new tyres rather than my age . Even though conditions were dry, I noticed that the traction control was cutting in on a few tight corners east of Kawakawa Bay.

Too early to make any major assessment other than it's really easy to ride and sounds terrific with the little stubby can. My butt ached a bit in the last few km of the journey but will probably get used to the new seat - either that or it will get an Airhawk like the Triple. Got a small screen on back order and having matte 3M clearfilm applied to some parts of the bodywork and a fenda extenda is on order along with crash knobs. Looking forward to getting some k's on it and growing older disgracefully!
    nice....very nice. Enjoy

Nice choice of toy Geoff. That K5 motor had a lovely meaty feel to it, and with shorter gearing plus reshaped cams it'll no doubt pull rather nicely from lowish revs. Makes sense why the reviews come out quite favourable, what with most of us bikers maturing and race reps becoming less appealing.

My guess is Mr Suzuki will be shifting a few of these, especially seeing the value for money aspect

Yep, knees and wrists took a hiding on a Daytona 675 I tried a couple of years ago. Lovely bike but not for me! You'll be able to see it up close and personal shortly! Restricted to under 6000 rev/min but that's 140 km/hr in top :-)

I'm sure it won't take you long to get past that run-in restraint period. Look forward to seeing it up close and personal.

Very nice bike. I dropped by colemans the other day and saw their display one. I hope they sell shed loads so I can afford one in a couple years.

    Enjoy.

If you struggle to read the dash at a glance you shouldn't be behind the bars struggling with that means you're missing a lot of the important shit you should be paying attention to!

The small digital dash's displaying speed in a numerical form as a simple number are easier to read accurately at a split second glance than a tightly clustered dial. If it says 105 it's immediately registered in the brain.

    Especially when you're approaching a 25k corner.
