    First try at a video

    Hello,

I just made a quick video of a nice ride I did around the Manawatu back roads. With summer approaching I was thinking about making videos a semi-regular thing.
I thought getting feed back would be a good place to start

    let me know your thoughts!

    Cheers

Sorry dude. Bit self absorbed for me.
I take no pleasure whatsoever by watching a ride. Far rather go on one myself.
BTW - whatever you do, don't go down the path of pontificating as you ride.

Forget about the speeding up of the footage. That was as far as I watched to. Learn to edit out the boring bits.

I use a GoPro a lot and only take stills off it these days to add to my ride reports. If I do post up a video, I make it as short as I can. On Saturday I recorded about 3 hours around the east cape and have kept about four minutes worth for my own records.

As Schrodingers cat says, dont start vblogging (or whatever it's called), no one really cares. Fun hobby but for your own enjoyment.

    Hay Minotee.

Had a quick look at it, im not a fan of the speed up style, but if you enjoy it go for it.

Like most people i enjoy going for a ride more then watching it but i also enjoy watching Motovlogers and im sure alot of other people do too (looking at the subscriber numbers and that there are a few who that is there job).

End of the day if you enjoy doing it then stick with it

Thankx. Couple of nice places, please leave a camera on beautiful views longer =)). Quick motion scenes work as well, makes watcher appreciate short beautiful view moments.

You should have sped up / slowed down portions no more than 5% of the time and only really for comedic effect.

For godsakes don't repeat anything slowed down more than once.

If shit is boring cut it in and out.

What camera are you using? Quality looks OK but not stunning.

There was another thread on here a while ago from someone getting into vlogging that had some tips in it.

Life is short, do what makes you happy.
Although there are some tips about how to do better videos just do it the way you like.
There are 7 billion people in this world, someone will like what you make, out of the rest the most will be people who've never made anything creative themselves in their whole life let alone their own vids anyway....
Just remember don't upload anything you wouldn't let your insurance company or local cop watch and they will be watching....
