They wear t-shirts saying loud bikes are safer than quiet ones.

It's all about safety, not penis size, apparently.

Well I think the next one will be number twenty so you have a lot to look forward to.

I liked the story about how Child became a writer. He was working for the BBC but nobody in the office was actually doing any work. One day he told his colleagues that this situation couldn't last, but they all just looked at him as if he'd said something silly. Then the letters came, the office was closed and they were all out of work.

He told his wife he was going to try writing. One day he was in the supermarket and an elderly lady asked him to get something down that she couldn't reach.
His wife told him that if the writing thing didn't work he could always get a job as a supermarket reacher. And he had the name.

Yup. Riding my 2t's I always think they are noisy but if a mate is on one I can barely hear them. Standard pipes. Even single skin pipes don't carry noise far.

Can't comment on the Hardlies, my big bike pipes are a token gesture but only get the wind up em on the open road. Each to their own but Cruiser riders should really give up drag racing on the straights only to block the next set of corners. Wears out me brake pads unnecessarily.

Must take the "mufflers" off the RG this weekend...see how far down the road the missus can hear me...........if it sounds any good, carry on the 14km to the township and annoy the locals......

Yeah, that might not be too clever..

    A high-performance, sharp-tuned 2T mightn't take to kindly - being caned without the proper length/diameter pipes..

Rather than pull the muffler cans, you could insert a tube of correct dimensions to make a 'stinger' - that blanks off the silencer internally,
    - but does not impede the properly timed gas wave flow, 'cept for audible sound level, of course..

A length of metal curtain rod, or similar - could do ya.. then by all means, go & lair it up, but with kosher lookin' cans still mounted.. yeee-haaa!

    This

Revving at the lights is nice and all, but other than for posing purposes it's reasonably pointless.

The only bikes that I've noticed noising me up lately have been Ducati monsters, but I'm used to that and quite enjoy it, and at least I know they'll sound just as nice leaving me behind in the twisties.
Riding cheap crappy old bikes badly since 1987
