Song of the Sausage Creature - Hunter S Thompson

Was just reflecting on my favourite pieces of motorcycle related writing. These have all been posted on KB previously but the membership here is a moveable feast so many may not have seen them.

That is a very nice read, especially on a Sunday morning with a strong black Italian coffee...

A little rambling but somewhat close to the inner workings of a litre rider.

The article is missing the Ralph Steadman artwork, integral to Hunters writing.

Cool. I was a fan of Steadman's work back when he was doing the gardening notes for Rolling Stone magazine.

AFAIR, R.Steadman's art goes back to when he was doing the gardening notes at Changi Prison, Singapore..
..in the early `40's.. as a compulsory 'guest' - of the Nippon war machine..

Years ago I gave my copy of "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" to a Samoan lawyer. I was inspired to do so by the thought that Fear and Loathing likely contained the only Samoan lawyer in the world of literature.

Yeah, I stand corrected there, on that particular one, so ta, must have been recalling another artist of a similar ilk..
..but you do actually know what "AFAIR" signifies as a qualifier - right, googlebro?
