Tyre deals> 17 inch sport tourer tyres?

need tyres - 180/55 17 and 120/70 17 which are very common sizes for sport tourer, but in Nelson there are no good deals on right now and with the crazy prices we are paying I need to hunt around. Has anyone seen a good deal of late for main brand tyres?

Give TSS Red Baron in Wellington a call. They should still have good deals on Bridgestone T30s?

They had pilot road 2s for a great price not long ago, still make them as popular despite supposed successors 3 & 4. I'd buy some more over the Bridgestone 23s I fitted last to replace them.

Oh, you have a 1050 Tiger too. Thought the 2s just suited the bike.

    Thanks will check that too.
When I see prices paid for these tyres overseas I just cringe - I know we are small market so a premium is expected but the prices are crazy!

Factor in exchange rate, freight, gst, supply and demand purchasing at all stages + the shops actually have to turn a profit. I was going to add and rip off thieving distributors, but you'll probably find their price from manufacturers is much higher than their US equivalent.

But there are some good deals out there.

This'll give you an idea of what's what rubber-hoop price-wise on this side of the ditch.. dunno if they ship to N.Z...

I have never liked the Michelin PR2's on my bike. All going according to plan they will be swapped for a set of Diablo Rosso Corsa's this month... before my next trackday anyway.

Got the Bridgestone T30 EVO at $400 the pair plus freight to Nelson. Red Baron Wgn. Plus fitting here of course but still considerably better than local unfortunately.
I have the non evo version on at present and have been completely happy with them.

When buying tyres on special, check the manufacturing date stamped on the side. Never had any issues with TSS, but CT in Auckland once shipped me a pair of Bridgestone BW-502 and 501 that were four years old.
