No such thing as stupid (cept in my case) Kiti. You just haven't learnt it yet.

    You checked the battery yet?

Don't need to pay anyone, but I did bet someone $10 it was a terminal connection.

That good - but ASAP get your local garage or GuyOrGalWhoReallyDoesKnowAboutCars to clean and check those terminals, else you'll maybe get stuck again.

sounds like crap on the battery connection to me. Take the connections off the terminal, wash the terminals and connectors with lots of warm water and reconnect. (I had EXACTLY the same thing a while back) Then go to Repco and get some anti corrosion pads and fit them.

actually, without taking them off or anything, plain old boiling water from the kitchen jug is great for cleaning crap and corrosion off battery terminals, pour it liberally over one at a time (dont cause a little mini-hurricane-katrina over the whole thing or you'll create a short between the terminals, though).

do that, then use the crc to loosen up the bolts holding the terminal connectors on, then bang them right down and screw them in tight.

Thanks once again guys. Will be taking my car to mums friend on Friday for him to have a nosey round, and what not. Now I have it going I don't want to muck round with it *doesn't know what shes doing* So it will have to wait til then. I feel kind of better now.

I dunno jack shit and have no one to ask, or anyone who lives close by that can show me things. even though I would like to learn. Was always made feel silly for wanting to learn, so sorry bout that guys.

Hopefully one day I won't be saying "is it that thing"
