    who's read long way round?

got given the book long way round by ewan mcgregor and charley boorman.
just started rading it and it seems pretty good.
just read the part where ewan has been to a motel in the states on a harley and being denied a room for the night (the reason he wasn;t allowed a room was because he was on a bike but they obviously didnt tell him that.
he goes on the jay leno show and says what happened next thing he knows he has been given free vouchers to stay there.
    being stereo typed...

also got twist 2 and total control from amazon and they are bloody good books.
was heaps cheaper getting these books from the u.s.a and they arrived within the week.

they wanted KTM to support them but KTM didn't want a bar of them because they reckoned they would fail.
the harley episode was way before this trip happened,

I have heard that the TV programme is showing currently in NZ but I haven't caught it yet.

Apparently during the ad breaks there is an ad for the DVD.

I checked Amazon.co.uk yesterday and they say the DVD will be released in November. Odd I thought...

I read it, its a book by a celeb and a nearly celeb. Complete wusses. I think they had some issues with there manlyness and thought this would fix it. Doesnt stop them from being a pair of princesses. I reckon you could get paris and whats her name to do the same trip.

Yup, and it's brilliant. Be buggered if I can remember what day it's on though.

    Long Way round DVD

Bought the DVD of the series a while back, from Amazon UK. The whole trip has been entertaining, particularly when they reach the eastern states. Last episode is dissapointing, as they cover the whole of North America in 1 episode. There was a better programme on cable a couple of years ago, about 6 guys who really did the whole lot! across europe, into Alaska, down to South America, across to Africa, then all the way up. That was really good to watch, and not a film star in sight.

    .

Programme is on TV2 on a Wednesday night around 10.30pm.

    I'm really enjoying it.

I have a copy of the book waiting in Hamilton for me (one of my mates ordered his and my copies from Amazon).

A couple of my mates have the DVD - not sure where they got it from.

    Warehouse DVD's $44.95

I brought the DVD from the Warehouse for $44.95
    Seven Episodes in all.
I've just finished watching the last one last night. Very neat and definately well worth having in any motorcycle maniacs DVD collection.
An enjoyable last three nights in front of the box.

Nearly bought the DVD in real groovy at the weekend, but decided $40 was a bit rich for something i've seen half of already, I mean its good telly compared to the dross on most nights but couldn't see myself get down for repeated viewings, so bought Casino, special edition instead - which is great.
Saw the book in boarders as well, that could be a stocking stuffer for christmas, well either that or a new set of leathers (will need a big sock though)

The programme has been rereleased in a 10 episode form. I presume they've expanded each end of the trip, particularly the Canada/USA section. Perhaps this version is being released on DVD in November?

And while there may be tougher/harder/smarter riders out there (seem to be a few on this site by the looks of it) who could have done the trip better at least these guys can talk to camera and provide a bit of entertainment as well. I also think it also stood up well to a second viewing.
