How unfair, I wish I could ticket people for everytime they cut me off and don't see me. Man, I swear on the little FXR I would have given out a good $2000 worth of fines by now. Good stuff, maybe next time when she sees a motorbike she will see her money vanishing before her eyes and decided to see the bike as well, its certainly a cheaper option.

I replied, "Yes, and that's why motorcyclists get knocked off their bikes".

She says, "Yes, my husband has a motorbike."

Right.... so, if by chance your wife came home with a $150.00 ticket today for trying to put me into the pavement and giving me heart failure at the same time, she got off pretty lightly considering how mad I was.

She didn't see a fuck off huge cop bike with a flouro dressed rider wearing a white helmet?
Are you reporting this to LTNZ so that they can revoke her licence until she gets a medical?

Anyway my point is we need to slow down and show some tolerance as we get it wrong from time to time as well.
No you were not at fault. Case law states that a driver has to ensure that he knows where another driver is going. He cannot rely on turn signals.

At least she didn't cut bikey cop off then add insult to injury by giving the finger, like the import in a Beemer did to me this morning. But then he had to stop at the next lights, we proceeded to have a full and frank discussion about his driving practices and how the next time it won't be just his side window getting a whack.

'I didn't see you' she said when I chucked a U-ie and confronted her at the next intersection.

'That's because you didn't FUCKING LOOK you dickwit. My motorcycle planted through your front door would have fucked both our days don't you think?'

    'Ummmmm. yeah.'

    Fortunately I was watching her.

If they are on about bike riders wearing glo vests, then so should cyclists. Cars would all be wrapped in day glo strips, and caravans would just be banned from moving on weekends (hate the things). Any cage drivers caught talking on a mobile, would just have their hands amputated (with no anaesthetic).

People carriers, should have the drivers area sectioned off, and then they cannot be distracted by whatever is going on. And we will still blame the French for everything.

Got to admit, when I had the TL, NOBODY pulled out in front of me. Literally, I cant remember a single time in the 2.5 years I had it. Blindingly bright yellow colour, two over-wattage headlights always on, yellow jacket, and booming exhaust - even if they didnt see me (impossible unless they were blind, and even then there is some room for debate) there is no way they didnt hear/feel the exhaust note. Plus the somewhat imposing size of it, damn thing was bigger than some cars.

However, the Aprilia is a whole other story. On just my second day of ownership I had some fuck-knuckle in a subaru pull into my lane going over the newmarket overbridge. Stood it on its nose (luckily no one was tailgating me - unusual for Auckland!) and then after the guy has come about 3/4's of the way into my lane, he spots me (thru the rear veiw mirror I suspect) and swerves like a loony back into his own lane.

Bit late for that buddy . . . if I hadnt got out the way I would have been watching my new pride and joy get munched (oh yeah, and me too - cant forget that). Wasnt overly happy, and managed to communicate this somewhat adequately via some extremely animated hand gestures at his driver window. At least he had the decency to look embarrassed.

    Fucking rock ape.

Maybe take the other approach and give her a reason not to see the cop bike...

Ah yes - the mobile phone.
I was approaching the Harbour Bridge this morning, headed south, in the far left lane, and this car speeds up, pulls over to the left of me. WTF? Maybe it's broken down...
It slows, pulls back in behind me, and I give the driver an over the shoulder, "WTF are you doing?!?" look (a bit pointless with a mirrored visor, but never mind).
A minute or so later, she changes lanes to the right of me, and pulls alongside. Talking on her mobile phone.... :slap:

On a brighter note, going down Onewa Road a few minutes earlier, I was distracted by something in the corner of my right eye, so turned to look. It was the lady in the car to the right of me, talking to her toddler in the back seat, waving, and looking at me. Ah - I get it; she's telling her kid to wave to the funny man on the motorbike. I look at the toddler; he/she is the sickest looking kid I've seen - big red marks under the eyes, blothcy, pale complexion. Poor kid. I give a cheery wave, and Toddlerperson waves back, and looks a little happier.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....
