    Best day ever!

    Longtime lurker first time poster.

After waiting years for the kids to get a bit older and the wife to sign the slip I finally got my learners.

Naturally the first thing I did was go straight to motomail to look at some kit. Mike was real helpful and I walked out with a full set of kit for around $800.

Straight to experience motorcycles in Kingsland where I had my eyes set on 2015' kawaski z300. Darelle sat me down and me an offer that I couldn't resist. Next thing I know I'm taking my first ride on the streets and HOLY SHIT I am still grinning!

After the nerves died down I opened her up and boy was I impressed. Smooth power delivery all the way through the gears, comfy riding position, could stop on a dime with the brakes. Only one little hiccup where I lost track of what gear I was in (slipped it into n instead of 1st at a set of lights).

Going back tommorow to pick her up where I'll be doing a short blat down the sh20. One of the guys from experience has even offered to ride home with me to make sure I get back all good.

I'm stoked with the level of service by those guys and couldn't recommend them highly enough.

    Enjoy.

The best riding is away from the Highways.

Check this thread out for a learner ride.

    Cheers guys!

Took her for a ride from Kingsland to Papatoetoe via Onehunga and Otahuhu. Was a bit nervous starting off but came right pretty quick. Only stalled once haha.

Looking forward to doing a ride forever course and going to the SASS sessions.

your a peppy wee spitfuck aitcha.

"from Kingsland to Papatoetoe via Onehunga and Otahuhu." does not "going for a ride" make.

you're going to shit when you find out they make bikes with 4 times the displacement.

Welcome to the zoo that is KB!

Nothing like fun on 2 wheels, although you'll soon get over the "power" of a 300 and want more

As peppy as your granddaddy with a bottle of Viagra on his birthday haha. But agree. Considering it was my 2nd time on a road bike excluding the BHS I thought it was alright.

You got there, you got back, you obviously had fun doing it, Good On You, ol Arkzle gets his panties ripped on occassion, but is generally capable of actually giving good advice on occassion.
Enjoy that bike and do look out for some rider training and the few groups that take young, inexperienced, in need of refreshing types out for quiet wee rides in the city. SASS, SATNReven thre good old FBMC, all groups based here in KB.
Every day above ground is a good day!:

You're just starting out and it sounds like you are doing just fine.

Dont worry about Akzlety, he is just jealous he hasn't got a bike.
