S`funny, I'm thinking of going the other way from a 1050, but a Tiger, to a STR. Haven't ridden one yet, but getting weary of big heavy bikes and change for changes sake seems appealing.

Don't you look at my accountant.
He's the only one I've got.
If you've wanted one for years... and a chance this solid isn't going to come up again... would you be kicking yourself if you didn't??
Lordy you still don't proof read your posts. Try make sense of above.

I can identify with this. Went from a Blackbird to a Street Triple and never regretted it. Currently riding a GSX-S 1000 but in all honesty, it doesn't offer me anything extra over the Street Triple, and I can see myself returning to a STR when Triumph have sorted out whether they are going to offer both the 675, 800 or both of them.
In most things bike related, ask yourself -
If I buy it and regret it, how much will I regret it?
If I don't buy it and regret it, how much will I regret it?
I frequently find it is better to regret something you've done, rather than something you wish you'd done.
Evaluate the above, make your choice, and live happy in the knowledge that whatever the outcome, you made the best decision at the time.![]()
"It's hard to keep an open mind, when so many people are trying to put things in it"
My only question is: Have you gained the discipline so yiour licence lasts more than a quarter of an hour ???
(Personally, I might make half an hour ... but then I blew off a Speed Triple from Turangi up the Desert Road and left him in my dust - I suspect NO BALLS on the part of the Speed Ttriple rider )

An inanimate object is owned. End of. If a home I had bought was listed as heritage after I bought it, think I'd burn it down.
Tiger 1050 is so quiet you'd think I would have noticed such a thing. Only six years so. . .

So you gonna get it or what? What's the missing farkle?
No body move... I dropped my brain
I'd go with the above opinion that it's better to do something and regret it, rather than not do something and forever regret not doing it.
At least if you give it a go you know the answer, otherwise you'll be forever wondering.....
Riding cheap crappy old bikes badly since 1987
