Any experience or issues needing to be replaced or anything else after running the bike in ?
Also when hot it tends to have a few idle issues and it can tend to get a bit sticky and rev high, not a major problem as a quick stab clears it and it returns to normal idle, just annoying when descending hills and its running away. Anyone experienced with changing plugs or playing round with it in this department.
And lastly the battery, after minimal action over summer the electric start is playing up and it hasn't charged back up after 1.5 hours motoring, doesn't have enough just to turn it over but then sometimes it will start? Ive heard they can be a bit shit after sitting in the factory prior to sale, anyone replaced it with after market ones or does a full charge sort the problem?
overall a bloody good bike and goes great once i geared it down. Would just be keen to hear others experiences with the bike or little quirks that needed attention or replacing?
Cheers

Hey Linden,
I have a klx too and agree they are great bikes.
I have only done 20 hours since new and am still trying to get used to two wheels in dirt after road racing classics and 4 wheelers on farm lol.
First question is has the bike been rejetted and opened up in the exaust/airbox?.
I changed the tires to s12xc tires with heavy duty tubes which get great grip but do chunk a little on hard ground.
Get the 130 rear and don't be tempted with the 140 as in my opinion (and I tried the 140) it handles a lot beter with the 130.
Im 6 foot and the bars too low for me so had 25ml risers on the standard bars which felt better but I flipped the fucker trying out a bank and bent the bars so got a set of renthal bars with 22ml more rise than the k971 bars standard which do the same thing.
I also have a set of rad braces on mine which when I had a bad off didn't save the radiator completely but definatly helped brace the rad to the point it didn't munt itself completely and I was able to keep going with the ride for the rest of the day ( it would have fucked itself completely if they wernt on). The reason why I bent it was the front wheel went off track and I fell so the bars were on the track and the wheel was over the edge which meant the bike slid along with the radiator on the sharp edge of the track.
I have straightened the rad and its fine.
With the idle issue I would check the choke is in properly.
Cant help with the battery as mine is fine with full choke and 4 pumps throttle cold it winds 1 turn and fires .
Hot I don't bother with hot start lever just tinyest bit of throttle and 1 wind starts fine.(mine has been rejetted).
How much did you gear it down?.
I just went 1 bigger on the rear as did'nt want to go smaller on front to protect the slider on swingarm.
Cheers mike
