Yeah see, I over looked the obvious...for the first time ever.![]()
In Christchurch we have those boards at the main entries to the city that display the present travel time to various points.
They work by polling bluetooth devices that pass by one point, and measure the time they take to then pass the second point.
Bluetooth devices that are connected to something are excluded, but most passing disconnected phones with the bluetooth turned on are polled.
The data isn't stored, coz that's be unacceptable to Nikki Hagar.
I have been reliably informed that the times on the motorway travel time signs are "written up" as part of the creative writing course run by NZTA under the authority of NZQA, where as AT's ones for the Urban Routes are written up by the local kindie kids who are doing basic numeracy...![]()
First of all, expect worse travel times around D'Auckland for the next while (2-3yrs) as the mentally retarded Auckland Council fuckwits have decided to meddle with the roads and dig a big hole in Albert St.
The Western Motorway was closed (yes, completely SHUT) a few nights back so resurfacing can happen all-lanes-at-once style. A beautiful job is being done, but NOT putting pointsmen and conrtols on the detour route is a(nother) stupid move.
Ramp-lights mean nothing. Ignore them on 2-wheels or 4.
They only want you to "stop", which we do while waiting for the car ahead. So just GO! when you get your chance!![]()
TOP QUOTE: “The problem with socialism is that sooner or later you run out of other people’s money.”
Topic related, I have witnessed a female taking a piss on the Newmarket fly over. Traffic was stopped, car in front of me, and she got out of the back seat, squatted in front of the drivers open door and took a piss. Traffic started to moved before she was finished...all I could do was laugh, she worded sorry as she got back in the car, cleanliness was in order though, she rinsed her hands with a pump bottle out the rear window.
When needs must ...etc.
