Talking Dragwars Starting up again @ MEREMERE! Yee haa

It's that time of the year again. Time to dust off your wind-cheating leathers and helmets. Night dragwars are starting up again, first meeting on the 4th of November (That's right it's Nov not Dec like previous years!) so how about we have a group ride down on the friday night and take the 'sillyness' off the streets and onto the dragstrip?

Sounds like something most people would like to come and watch rather than participate. You should put it as an event on the calendar and start up an attendance list.

It's better to not pass and know that you could have than to pass and find out that you can't. Wait for the straight.

JUST REMEMBER! You don't need a bullet bike to be able to drag. There is a race section that you do a couple of runs down the strip first then you 'predict' your next time. (Cant remember what its called - I'm sure someone will remind me) Whoever is closest wins. I've seen some shitters win! It all in consistancy. There is usually 6 classes. 4 for general car draggin, 1 for bike draggin and 1 'all in' class as described above. Becides where else can you see how fast you can go at the drop of hat without 'the man' catching you? :slap:

I'm keen to go for a blat down the strip. My bike's supposed to be able to do aroud 14secs over the 1/4 mile. Wanna see if I can equal or better that. Plus it'll just be fun to go hell for leather!

They call it DYO, or Dial Your Own. You've outlined it pretty well.

You've gone and inspired me to finish getting my car going now. I'll be quicker in that than on my slow little bike.

Anyone wanting to drag on the night must have current reg and wof. Cant remember price but think not dearer than $30. That price is for entry (spectate) and to race.
