Honda XL175 project bikes; what value

Hi, appealing for feedback on the value of three Honda Xl175s.(orange tank models)Consisting of a near complete bike, less headlight and surround and tail light assembly. Apparently the PO spent $1500 on reconditioning the motor, but no receipts. No idea if it starts, but does turn over. Bike is sound, with side covers .Exhaust is non original and looks like a supertrapp. Bike two is near complete, missing one side cover and headlight and tail light assemblies. Very good tank. Bike three is a complete frame with no motor or panels and look sound. There is a box of spares including carby and good seat base. Onto Trade me it shall go as a job lot. Brilliant start for an easy resto. How much should I ask?

My first brand spanking new store bought bike. A stump pulling 17hp iirc.

Mine was eventually 190cc odd, possibly as much as 24hp. Downwind. Handled pretty good, in spite of the damp spaghetti forks.

Nice,1st bike was an SL125 (was 12) next was an Orange 175 like this lot.Fwiw next was an XL350 which i sat my licence on complete with 250 stickers.. rode it 30k to the Cheviot county office to sit the test,after the question part the cop said "no point in the next bit i know you rode the thing from your old mans"

Nostalgic market for us ahem 'mature' riders. I had a mate with one when I was in high school - remember working on the engine (big bore kit) fitting a Supertrap muffler etc. Good memories - especially starting up the rebuilt engine in his mums living room at midnight. Oddly she was not as impressed at it running as we were.

Hows this for a kicker,awhile back i was yapping to my old man about the Motorsport in the shed and i mentioned the TL250 he bought new from Hollins (spelling) Honda many many yonks back,he had just sold it for $1000 complete with 305 kit never fitted.No problem to him considering what he paid for it new.

You are welcome to view if you are up in chch visiting your Mum soon, as it needs to go on TM ASAP. I doubt the collection is as good cond as your Motorsport, judging by photos. Definitely a great base for a resto.

Yeah........ my granddad rode. Folks reckon he passed it to me. He raced bikes back in the day - Norton Gold Stars and the likes.

He used to tell me what he paid and sold them for - old bikes Allan - be worth nothing now .............

I'd say a Norton Gold Star would be worth some serious money these day...if you could find one

Similar XL career path. No 250s, just 350s.

The 175 was what I learned on though, gave it absolute shite and it always came back grinning. Strangely enough the colour of my more recent bikes is also orange...
