    How many KBers scuba dive?

Looking for dive buddies over the summer, which is rapidly approaching (yeehaa). I haven't been for a dive this year and I'd really like to get back into it. Sadly I just had to sell my underwater camera to pay the excess to get my bike back, so I'll have to be content with having a good look round. I'm not really a hunter/gatherer diver - much prefer scenic dives. All those interested let me know.

just got my boat sorted, will be diving all summer.
Mainly Little Barrier / Kawau. Usually 2 - 4 of us on 6.0m Circa.
Boat is based Kawau Bay. Usually drop of the hat stuff, ie; not a whole lot of warning. Always a hardcase affair. What is your level?

I did SSI Open Water which is equivalent to PADI advanced. I don't go in for doing all those courses. Used to work for Dive New Zealand magazine so I've done my share of wreck diving, night diving, tropical diving & underwater photography. I do have some problems with my sinuses (even had surgery to widen them) so my descents tend to be pretty slow, and hence I prefer not to go too deep if I'm having problems equalising.

Would love to get into it but since arriving in NZ I have been told I have asthma apparently. Asthmna so I hear can cause some major problems for depths over 2 metres. I'll just stick to shallow water snorkling.

Same on the deep scene, have done a lot of deep dives, danger vs fun ratio heavily in danger favour. We have lots of fun, with much less danger, in 40-60 foot for 90% of our diving. Horne rock is one of my favourite regular dives.
Even at 40-50 foot, it is Aucklands 'tropical' reef dive.
Can PM you next time we are planning a nice dive, so starts weather vs time vs availiability game.

Here's an idea for a long weekend..... if there are enough of us, we could ride up to Tutukaka (with a support vehicle taking all the dive gear), stay at the camping grounds there, dive the Poor Knights the next day, have a few drinkies that night, then ride back the next day. Even those who don't dive could come - they could do some snorkelling at the Knights, go off on a separate fishing charter, or head further north on a ride, or something. Those that are keen to give diving a go could even do a 'try dive'. Could be a big KB long weekend that would be lots of fun for everyone.

I would be keen on that if you dont mind having a less experienced diver along with you. Have got my open water cert, but havent done any diving for a number of years now. Very keen to get into it again, but dont have the gear so would have to hire.

Still, if you dont mind having me along, I would love to join in!

Always a great idea for a weekend...would love to join in. Have done this dive, absolutely awesome scenery, fishlife, crays...mmmmmmmm... craaaaays...

Best dive I've ever been on. Now dive when I can around Taranaki and never miss getting crays down here, but it's been over ayear since my last dive.

Little Barrier is awesome too. Bugger. Looks like you're getting the great offers coming, you lucky, lucky b@#*a*d!!!

Anyone in the Naki looking for a diver??????????????? Don't have boat so I'm stuffed...
