    Electric Motorcycle Project

Alright Kiwibikers, I know there are a million and one other things you could you with your hard earned cash but if you have a few $$ spare consider passing some onto this guy. I know him personally, he's a good kid and I wish I had half of his engineering talent!!!

While it's a cool project. What's he actually doing for the 15k?

I know of a number of self funded electric bikes done in NZ already (one being my own), we had a couple at Te Manawa (palmy museum). There's already awareness there, what we need is availability, either as parts and services for the DIY ones; or as a finished product for commuters etc.

Also, a few more pledge levels wouldn't hurt. $7 to $5k is a bit of a jump...

Have you thought about getting a sponsor? Shorai comes to mind.

Top speed 165 km/h and range 100km. One or the other, I suspect - not both at the same time.

Grabbed this off the hunting forum. Thought it was ok to put in this thread, if not please move it to the appropriate place (opening myself up here I suppose)

I saw the bike in the metal - and met the proud owner - at the EV rally stopover in Lower Hutt earlier this year.

He's done really nice work on it. He had an interesting point about deliberately not fairing the batteries, he wanted it seen that it was electric.
