I have the same problem with my neighbour, he came around 3 times and asked me to tell my friends not to park at my place. I told him to grow up and stop complianing as his friends regularly bloke off my driveway.
So he complained to the landlord. I like my landlord, he told him to grow up and piss off.

Winja's right about having good neighbours - you don't know how lucky you are until that person moves out and you have a mongrel for a neighbour! We had one when we lived in town who made Jake the Muss look like a Jehovah's Witness...

We've got great neighbours now, the kind you know you could call on for help at any time of the day or night. Although we must have done something to annoy the guy next door - his tom cat chased our kitten last night and then peed all over our front door! If he tries it again, I'll run a few volts through it...

I was going to offer sensible advice.....but then I noticed the bike is KR150 .......I would complain to your landlord as well if I had known his number

Seriously, though, I'd go with Winja's advice (doesn't sound like he is normal....but he is sensible).
Go talk, explain and apologize. Promise it would never happen again. Everybody knows "drunk people do bad things". I'm sure your neighbour would understand.

A few bottles of wine go a long way, good neighbours are worth almost as much as a good shed. My neighbours are good folk, I know that my bikes or other loud machines have woken them up on a few occations, but a few free jobs done for them have kept them sweet.

I love motorbikes but I'd get pissed off with someone next door revving the snot out of there bike while I'm shut inside and not out riding so I reckon a bit of a chat and apology would be the way to go. My partner and I have a part time ( part time my arse ) lanscaping business and most Saturdays have to load up our trailer with ride on lawn mower, spades and shovels and assorted noisy garden parephanalia ( sp ?) at sparrow's fart right outside the neighbours bedroom window. Haven't struck problems yet, we try and keep it quiet but I'm sure they would prefer us to sleep in at the weekend , as would I.

Yep, I can definately understand WHY they are upset, I hate boyracers for the same reason. Im just feeling a little bummed that they went to the landlord first instead of me - im hardly very scary!

My advice is to make an offer to your landlord to buy your neighbours house. Then kick them out.

Hmm, tough one. I agree with WINJA to a certain extent, but then sucking up and apologising if the neighbours are in fact people you really do not want to associate with may backfire. Remember it is extremely hard to get tenants these days so your your landlord shouldn't be too tough on you, I know our landlord dropped our rent when we threatened to leave.

People these days just need to be a little more tolerant, I would wait until one of them mows their lawn and make the same compliant (sounds about the same as your bike )

I KNOW IT TAKES LOTS TO KICK SOMEONE OUTA THEIR HOME , EVEN WHEN THEIR TRASHING THE PLACE THEY HAVE RIGHTS , DONT WORRY MOST LANDLORDS LIKE MONEY AND REVING YOUR SHITTER ON THE DRIVE IS AT THE LOWER END OF THE SCALE .
I HAD A TENNANT THREATEN TO KILL ONE OF HIS LADY NEIGHBOURS AND I TRIED TO TALK TO HIM ABOUT IT OUT THEN HE GOT REAL SHITTY AND THREATENED TO KILL ME , SO I HAD HIS CAR TOWED AWAY CAUSE IT WAS INCORECTLY PARKED , HE BOWLED MY DOOR I HAD A FIGHT WITH HIM .SO I GOT THE BALL ROLLING AND IT TOOK ABOUT 6 WEEKS TO GET RID OF HIM .
SAYING THAT A PERFECTLY GOOD TENANT CAN BE KICKED OUT FOR NO REASON AND ONLY 6 WEEKS NOTICE , EVEN LESS NOTICE IF THE LANDLORD SAYS HE HAS FAMILY SHIFTING INTO THE RENTAL

Yeah once had a tenant who threaten to kill me. I just made a call to the cops. Five cop cars turned up. They sprayed his room with a carton full of tear gas and then went in boots and all. Problem solved instantly.

Like WINJA says the RTA is on your side as a tenant - all the time limits, rules etc are in the Residential Tenancies Act 1986. Like he suggests too, if you're on a periodic tenancy (you most likely are) it is terminable by notice of either party (subject to time limits...).

Have a read through the RTA here:
