    Novice trail rides SI

After selling my road bike and picking up a dirt bike I'm wondering if anyone can recommend some of the organised trails that might be suitable for a novice off road in the South Island.

Don't want to enter one and find I've jumped off the deep end too early 😂

    Cheers guys n gals.

Couple of big tips for new players... soften your suspension damping, it's a trail ride, not a moto X. Hard suspension will make control hard and beat you up.
And really really do not put too much air in your tyres! Like 12 PSI max for most stuff, 8 PSI in mud and in wet or grassy conditions use good condition tyres, a half worn tyre is only ok on flat ground, might look like a waste of money changing it at half worn but if you want grip then sharp knobs and low tyre pressures are how you get it.

Taking a snack and drink with you on the track is good.

Good luck, have fun and if you aren't taking basic tools for fixing flat tyres or other bent bits then take cash.

Thanks for the tips mate. Needing to do the rear tyre fairly soon and am thinking I'll put one of those tubliss setups in aswell to run lower pressure.

Aiming for the Conway coast trail ride in February once everything's all sorted.
