Bike home from bike hospital

My M50 is being delivered home from bike hospital today!!!!!

I won't be able to ride her for some time until my shoulder improves, but I will be able to go down to the garage and sit on her and make Brmmm Brmmm noises.

Let me know how the shoulder comes along...got the same bloody issue here (AC joint shot!, cant ride anymore till the shoulder gets better...bloody arm keeps "turning off"...at all the wrong times!!)

And because the bike shop couldn't supply the exact same top box that I had fitted to it, the insurance company had approved them fitting a GIVI Maxia E55 monokey topbox to replace the damaged one - it's HUGE!!!

Even able to take it off and use it as a suitcase. I'll have to go touring now that I have this top box fitted to the bike. Beware, there might be a blue Boulevard M50 pulling into a driveway near you.

Steve, my wife rides a beautiful Grey 2011 M50 and has touring Oxford saddle bags, we've just done over 2300K's this last week around the North Island and enjoyed every minute of it.

well, I've seen a copy of my MRI report and I'm damaged more than my bike was.

"full thickness tears of the supraspinatus, infraspinatus and subscapularis tendons of the rotator cuff, and subluxation (misplacement) of the long head of the biceps tendon"

I'm seeing the specialist next week and that probably means shoulder surgery. And months off riding my bike!!!

At least I'm still breathing, could have been worse.

On the road, no. Only had one crash, head on caused by the other driver.

On the race track, a good few times.

Sorry Steve just saw this thread. Sounds like you have a bit of physio work ahead of you, all the best mate and just keep looking at the bike for encouragement.

We agree on one thing then that the track is not as safe as the road. Some on here have said in the past though they feel safer riding on the track.

I was racing. During races sometimes you come off the track. This was in my race car.

Imagine Cassina racing his Africa twin on the road, then racing his Africa twin on the track. If Cassina was to crash, which is unlikely given his vast experience , extensive non, training and resistance to pressure to keep up,but it does, which environment would be safer to crash on? The one with the blind corners, cars coming the other way, lamp posts etc or the one with nothing to hit, shingle traps, etc? What's your answer sport?
