Im guessing de reged even tho he has a plate , not all crashed ins write offs are de reged tho.
Im sure he's carjammed it already but they don't normally tell you who owned it anymore.
New ignition switch and key is the safest option

You can by-pass the switch .. take out the leads and join he live wires together - when that's done, touch the earth one to make the starter motor turn over .. (I'm writing this from memory from a very long time ago.)
You need to make the running circuit live, then touch the starter to the live wires to turn it over .. ignore all the lighting circuits

Might have been a Tologa Bay bike, pull up there with a "keystart' bike and you may as well have arrived on the space shuttle lol....
Well Suzuzki do at least two different keys as my DR key wont do the gixxer despite looking the same.... wonder just how many variations they bother to do.....
Just saying as if you go to Machinery delaer and buy a xxxxxxxxx forklift key it pretty much starts any xxxxxx forklift ion the country....
