Had managed to fit a klaxton (ahooga) horn to a CBR250RR MC22 while still making it look stock.

At least its louder than stock.

Stebel for sure. I have used them for ages with excellent results.

The Nautilus can be hard to fit to some bikes (GSX-R600 for one.) But you can get a pair of the Stebel Magnums. The pair comes with two different tones and measures up to around 140db close up.

Bit of careful planning you'll fit one behind the fairings with relative ease. Don't be tempted to skip the relay though.

I upgraded the horn to a Bosch electric about a year ago, and fitted a relay then. The fairing would be a better place as it's muffled somewhat by the lower fairing in the standard mount.

Most Internet discussions following a question are not much help as there will be almost as many different suggestions as there are responses. In this case though it's almost unanimous. Or about as close as you could get to unanimous on the 'Net.

I have never had to use my horn in anger.

What's the point? You're wasting valuable avoidance / braking time.

It can make a huge difference to be able to use a loud fuck off horn.....

To bad if you haven't got one when you need one....

And the day will come you will.....

(Use it in anger....or wish you had one to use....)
Opinions are like arseholes: Everybody has got one, but that doesn't mean you got to air it in public all the time....

Heh, sometimes all ya need is a blast of horn. Other incidents may need more "counter measures" (swerve, brake, a combination etc) to sort it out.

Esp when you've got your helmet on and the lid closed

You can still shake your head and hold up hands in disbelief.

I don't carry spark plugs let alone a stove (I think you mean stave in) and would not touch another person's vehicle.

The down side of a loud horn is it is jolly difficult to do a friendly toot.
I have often thought when I fit another it will be on a separate button. So stock would be friendly, or button beside for 110db of WTF.

Notes on having owned a couple:
Don't skip the relay. Many reasons including dimming of lights and dropping of revs if you hold the angry button too long at cruising speed. Found that out when I bypassed the relay when it failed days from home.
Which brings me neatly to, if putting your relay near your steering head make sure none of the moving parts will come in contact with your contacts.
    Cheap relays don't last.
Use a water resistant relay if you can.
If possible choose your contacts so that you can readily bypass the relay roadside if you need to.
WOF guys really appreciate it if you warn them before they test it.
Battery free bikes may well drive the horn testing while stationary, but you may find it doesn't when doing high revs or dropping revs fast without sorting out a means of compensating.
Test the horn frequently. With more parts in the circuit comes more points of failure.

I prefer to do both at the same time. Better to have the other party helping if possible (although not really necessary if you're already aware of what's going on).
