    New bike!

I don't want to come across as a gloater but I'm bloody crapping my pants with excitement as I pick up my brand spanking new VTR250 today! WOOOHOO

I've been looking at getting back into riding bikes for a while and have taken out CBR250rs and ZXRs etc. My mate and I have decided to do a tour of NZ next Jan so the only real choice was a VTR250 for comfort levels ofcourse. The CBR would have been bloody uncomfortable on a long trip like my old NSR250

Look forward to seeing other KBers on the road and hopefully on trips.

    'Tis a fun bike.

About touring with a VTR; I got a Fox non-magnetic tank bag, I found the rear strap went through the frame easy (There is a tube under the rear of the tank, take off the seat and have a look) and the front straps went quite well through the front bit of trellis. I found if I put something soft on the top of the bag I could lie down on it and ride for hours with no comfort problems. I recall it being the second cheapest bag in the shop and the largest.

I was wearing a backpack for a day or two, but that killed me. I tie the straps very firmly through the two hooks on the back on the frame, and strap the waist strap under the seat squishing the strap between the frame and the seat.

I may invest in proper set of panniers one day, but I am cheap bastard at times and this setup worked very well.

Of course it looked stupid, but I am not one for glamour..
