Question Help needed, please - I need to borrow...

    ... a torque wrench.

Fellow KBers - following the purchase of my Factory-Pro Evo Star Shifter Kit at great expense and personal danger, I have had to buy all sorts of unexpected STUFF: new oil, oil filter, gaskets and seals, even brake cleaner and Loctite. Now I have one (1!) bolt that needs to be torqued to the correct torquedness, or the VFR will likely crash, explode into flames, and I will die a horrible, painful and humiliating death.
If all else fails, I will purchase a torque wrench (I love buying/having new toys'n'tools), but I may well be divorced by the vifferbabe in the process, due to the whole purchase of the Factory-Pro Evo Star Shifter Kit being unauthorised in the first place. Oops, and all that...

Anyone got an accurate torque wrench (for a smallish bolt, so it doesn't need to have a range covering a football-field sized lump of torques) they could lend me, if needs be? For a few minutes? Hmmm?
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

Yes, but I don't think it will be particularly accurate at low torque settings. What torque are we talking about?

    Thanx, Matey.
If by some weird, twisted fluke of fate I get the thing apart and together this weekend, I may end up needing to buy one, in which case I'll phone you to let you know I'm cool (and poor). Please PM me your contact details?

If you need one on the weekend, call me on either 300 7500 or 4822056. I'll arrange it. I'm just over the hill from you.

Hey - I got one of those!
But it IS useful - it's a great big MoFo, so I use it all the time for BigMoFoBolts'n'Stuff, as an extra-long socket bar. Plus it has the ratchet thing going on, so that's a plus.

    Hey thanx, Lou.
I dunno what yet. I have a supiscion that in between hosting Mac the UnknownQuantity, houseworking, shopping, mowing the lawns because sons #2 and #3 won't, and #1 is working, and RunningAroundLikeAHeadlessChook, the bike's not going to get a look in. Which is a shame, because I have detailed instructions and a great illustrated guide to help, so (here we go jinxing the whole project), it should be straight-forward.
So, that means the bike will be laid up in the gargre for a few weeks, and instead of going riding in Coromandel next weekend, I'll be travelling by car to the AMPS open day, looking like a twat driving in my bike gear...

When you called Factory Pro, did you get a guy who ranted endlessly about liberals?

I found him hilarious. Being a bit of a liberal and all.

    Sorry, bit OT..

I didn't call them - I ordered it by email, then had an email war (well, more like email flurry). But the guy who I corresponded with was clever and funny.
