    Angry THOSE.BLOODY.FUEL.PRICES!! They're going down...

yes yes, this topic has been done to death, except that this is different. Now the prices are going back down...

Yesterday I was tossing up whether I should fill going home, or going in today. Figuring I would probably be a bit rushed in the morning, I decided to fill on the way home. Heading towards my usual Mobil (pay at the pump you see) on the commute route, I noticed another Mobil was at 1.519.

Filled up at the usual, then when locking the tank again, I suddenly noticed that the price was 1.509. weeee..... I saved 16c (A victory is a victory ). Chuffed all the way home at my good fortune.

Until this morning... the price had gone down another 2c

    The world hates me??

I needed to have a rant about how I was suckered into thinking I was saving 16c, but ended up being ripped off by a whole 32c.

    My timing sucks...

I hope they don't go back up, its actually more fun being ripped off when its going down

gas went up in fear of the second hurricane, but nothing happened.. so they must have just said 'ok then..' and put it back down. Plus, the 'demand' for gas has gone down (gee, wonder why), so that's made oil a bit cheaper/stabilized the price, so the knock on effect of all that, means gas has gone down a bit..

but - has anyone noticed the price of diesel? That's gone up 4’ to ~105.9

    Diesel Price rise

Apparently the price of diesel has gone up because the european union is pushing for more diesel to be used because they can make this super biodiesel stuff, they therefore have to build more refinining plants.

This never used to be a problem because an oil company could cover this cost over a period of say 30 years but because there is concerns about the amount of oil left they now need to recover this cost over a much shorter time, hence the need to raise the price a bit more. Also we are paying for the extra costs at the refineries due to the fact they are bringing down the carbon content down from 500ppm to 50ppm as a part of the Kyoto protocol.

Anyway, if anyone knows how to disconnect the speedo on a 91 toyota hilux I'd appreciate it. Not that I condone steeling but steeling off the government isn't really stealing at all anyway.

    "What shall we flog today?"

"Lets flog petrol prices, they aren't properly dead yet."
To every man upon this earth
    Death cometh sooner or late
And how can a man die better
    Than facing fearful odds
For the ashes of his fathers
And the temples of his Gods

I didn't intend it to be moaning about being high, I was moaning *cough* I mean annoyed, I wasn't getting my timing in the re-fueling game right.

Me, I've decided I want petrol prices to go up more. I reckon $2.00 per litre would be about right.

Cos (a) the higher it gets the more people there are switching to bikes. Which is a GoodThing. And (b) the more people there are taking public transport, car pooling etc, so there are fewer idiots on the road.

And, although it means I must pay more for petrol, the extra cost of commuting is only $10 per week.
