    Shipping a motorcycle engine Aus-NZ

    Hey guys,

Just wondering if anybody has had to deal with this before. I've possibly found an engine for my 01 R6 however it's in NSW Aus.

Any ideas on the cost of getting the engine sent here?

    Cheers!

Try Mainfreight as very helpful. Engine needs to be purged clean so no dangerous goods in transit and fully crated. Excluding customs duties and other taxes was going to cost about $450 port to port for a Rocket 3 complete.

Any of the international freight forwarders in the yellow pages would do it. It'll be less than 1 m cube which is the minimum volume charge - and under 100kg.

Recent experience has put me off mainfreight. I've used Cameron's to send frames to Aussie per airfreight.

Make sure its externally clean, no mud or organic matter stuck to it... otherwise any half decent outfit will hold it for MAF cleaning...
And no you cant come to a MAF bonded site and clean it yourself, has to be done by accredited people at proper site.
Dont skimp on the crate, its going to get handled multiple times at freight sheds and into and out of shipping container via skilled or unskilled operators.

Just re read your post, heaps of guys coming back from aussie mines and trucking at moment, few of them bring nice cars and utes home. Might pay to see if you can send it on the back of someones ute. Still have to declare for customs etc and might take lot longer but could save heaps if you know someone coming home.

buy a good quality drone and program it to send it here, stuff the cylinders full of cocaine to offset freight costs.
