I agree but think it could be remedied a wee bit. It is low km's and all tlr goodies. Might be a fun bike to ride?...

Right then, next question, is there a big difference in power and handling from the tlr to the tls? Worlds apart or just a bit of an edge?

Funny isnt it, what catches your eye sometimes...I love the sound and power of these v twins, but only from riding v stroms and sv's. anyway before I started this thread I asked the guy for some better photos as these ones are old now and the bike was wet. He can't be arsed. Not trying very hard is he? Anyway I have a 990sdr in my sights atm...

I had a 990SM... hooligan toy. Watch out that 6th is only usable above ~130 ish, I re-tuned and re-geared it, so it made 6th usable around 110-120... 3rd gear power wheelies

I still find myself looking at the v2 Tuonos, 2nd gen. God they sounded good, but then you remember what you're paying (10k ish) for no ABS or anything AND Italian electrics and maintenance... still, that sound

    I find the 990SDR a bit cramped.

The SMR/SMT is a great machine, although all of the 990s are a bit snatchy on the throttle off idle.

If I had the time for a project I'd be looking to buy an SMR/SMT, arsehole the 990LC8 and install a 1290 from a deceased SDR.
