    Yep, mine! see profile photo.
    I motarded out my KX500.
    Mods were....
    Lower and stiffer suspension
    17 inch wheels
    Fly wheel weight
    Larger frount brake
    Short frount guard

I won the nth island championship on it and also knocked off the cup for 1st place at one of the mt wellington kart track meets. (Briggs was there too)
I also crashed it a lot!
The biggest problem I find with it is the abruptness of the initial power stroke. I tried a seally fly wheel weight which helped a "little"
Backing in a large 2 stroke is not really an option on the tar.
I rode a very compeditive KTM 4 stroke back to back with my 500 and the difference was amazing. Exiting the corners the 4-stroke constantly "talked" to me, "I'm about to slide, I'm now starting to slide, I'm now sliding, want to stick it out another inch or so? Where as the 500 in comparrison would just go WROAH "I've slid, are you still hanging on?"

It was quite competitive in the dirt sections, and not to bad at all on the tar sections, I just lost out a bit on initial drive against the 4 strokes out of 1st and 2nd gear corners.
It is BLOODY fast. I did a 1:18 flat at manfield on it, the closest 4 stroke time was Dennis Charlotte on a Husaberg 650 at a 1:21!

I'm just getting the cylynder replated on it and I'll prob race it again here and there...

Seen a Husaberg FS650 in race trim with slicks kick the arse of some very, very fast road riders. It was a legendary ride. Go for a Husaberg mate.

the husaberg is a race bike - and needs to be mainained like one.
do you want to change the oil after every 10 hours of use?

if it's a ROAD bike you need, a KTM LC4, honda XR650, Yamaha XT660 Husqvarna SM610 is a MUCH easier bike to live with.
if you want a track-only bike, all of the MX derived bikes like the Husaberg, non-LC4 Ktms, CRFs are the cats Pjs.

I'm betting Bruce will end up racing the thing so 10 hours is longer than the MTBBC (mean time between Bruces crashes)
